Photo Diary: The New York Palace

Wandering around The New York Palace Hotel after breakfast a few days ago, I realized how appropriately named the hotel is.  These rooms were so dreamy that I had to stop and take a few photos.  It was only my second time staying at this hotel, and of course New York is full of fabulous places to stay, but this one is becoming my favorite.  The staff is so nice and helpful and it is walking distance to theatre and shops… and very easy to catch a cab if you are traveling across town or wearing high heels.
The historic building was constructed in 1882 as a single residence, and later became offices for the Archdiocese and then corporate offices for international companies.  It was first transformed into The Helmsley Palace in 1982, but changed ownership in 1993, undergoing a refurbishment into the luxury landmark hotel it has become.   It served as the home away from home to two of my favorite pretty BIG shoppers, Blair and Serena on six seasons of Gossip Girl, as well as many other film and television shows.  I’ve been back in Los Angeles for a couple of days now, but I am already missing these lovely halls.
