Meet Me at Croft Alley

Croft Alley Restaurant

Last week Mo and I took a break from shooting to dine at one of my new favorite lunch spots, Croft Alley. This adorable little café is located quite appropriately in an alley, just between Melrose Ave. and Melrose Place.

Don’t let it’s humble setting fool you… the food here is delicious and the crowd quite fashionable. It’s located on one of the best streets for shopping in Los Angeles, after all!

We started with these Lettuce Wraps with Turkey Sausage. They are topped with hot red peppers and a spicy sauce. So good!!! You can also order these with tuna or egg salad.

I ordered the French Scramble with Avocado on my previous visit and was tempted to order it again, but I decided to mix it up this time. I like to live on the edge :).

This Kale Salad with Mint and Shallots could not be more perfectly refreshing for the hot day we were having last week! The mint really gives this salad a unique flavor. I imagine I will be ordering this dish every time I stop by as my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Honey Ginger Lemonade and Green Iced Tea quenched our thirst.

Mo and I are both gluten-free diners so were happy to find out this Vermicelli Salad with Coconut Dressing was made with rice noodles.

Croft Alley is open for breakfast and lunch daily, but they stay open for private events and chefs tasting dinners. They can host anything from a private dinner for eight or a cocktail party for a hundred or more when they close off the alley. Entrees run from 8 to 13 dollars, so you will have plenty of cash left over to hit the shops on Melrose after lunch. 🙂

This House Made Yogurt and Chlorophyll is almost too pretty to eat…. Almost! It’s sweetened with honey and berries. So delicious!

If you’re not gluten-free there are plenty of sandwiches and baked goods to choose from. I admired some delicious looking pumpkin bread as I entered and the smell of fresh baked chocolate cookies wafted through the air as we were getting ready to leave.

This patio dining area makes me feel like I am in New York.
